Telos

This series of photographs was made over a period of years when I was commuting to work on freeways in Houston. Hurtling down the freeway either toward work or toward home was something I did each day.

I noticed when driving home later in the evening on mostly empty freeways a stark and lonely beauty in the concrete world of overpasses and highway. I began to carry a camera during these late-night drives toward home and try to capture some of this feeling.

These prints are platinum-palladium prints printed on a type of mulberry bark paper called kozo.
